Scientific Name - Marsilea quadrifolia
Common Name - Water Clover
Marsilea quadrifolia is an aquatic fern. It is a creeping rhizome, that does not bloom. It performs well in full sun & partial shade. The genus Marsilea is named in reverence of the Italian naturalist and scientist, Luigi Ferdinando Marsili. He died in 1730, about 100 years before the genus Marsilea was discovered and taxonomically described.
