Scientific Name - Juncus kraussii
Common Name - Salt Marsh Rush
Juncus krausii is a drought tolerant rush with an extremely pointy tip. The plant grows in large colonies upto 4 ft in height. It is used by the indigenous people for weaving of traditional sleeping mats, woven rugs, fishing line, strings, baskets, etc. It is drought tolerant. At Firefly we also use the plant for our Phytoremediation and Conservation projects.
