Eleocharis sphacelata is a perennial plant with a hollow stem. The foliage is mid to dark green in colour often with reds at the base of tsems. It produces small sized flowers cream to brown colour spikes that appear on the tips of the leaves. It performs well in sun. It is a very hardy plant and no maintenance required.
