Salvinia molesta is an aquatic fern with submerged leaves white to brown in colour, fine, hairlike and upto 1 inch long. These leaves act as roots. No true flowers are found in the plant, non viable spores are developed from the submerged leaves. It cannot grow in high salt concentrations.
