Cyperus hayarkon is a species of sedge that is endemic to parts of South America, Africa, the Middle East and western Asia. It is a perennial, grass-like plant with culms 60 - 90 cm tall growing from a thick, woody rhizome. It has been proven to support in the degradation of Total Oil and Grease and may therefore be utilized in Constructed Treatment Wetlands.
