Thalia dealbata is a beautiful aquatic plant with blue-green colored leaves and purple flowers. It has a powdery, white, water-repelling layer that also gives it a nice dusky and muted coloration on shove-shaped leaves. During the day the plant holds its leaves more or less horizontally but in the evening the leaves all stand to attention in an upright position.During summers flowers appear in spikes at the end of long stems and are purplish in colour. It performs well in ful sun or semi shade.
